Adding your name pronunciation record to your profile in Teams or Outlook

This article explains how to add and manage your name pronunciation to your profile in Teams or Outlook.

The simple act of adding the name pronunciation in Teams and Outlook can guide others to say the names correctly, making the university working environment more inclusive.

Please note: this function will be launched shortly across the University.

Adding your name pronunciation

1. Open Teams or Outlook 

2. Select your profile picture. You will then see your profile card

3. Select the microphone icon next to your name:

4. Select the microphone button to record an audio clip in the popping dialogue window. The maximum time for recording is 10 seconds:

5. Select the microphone icon again to stop recording. Your profile will be updated immediately once you save the recording

6. A speaker icon will appear close to your name. Select it to hear your recording: 

""

 

Changing or deleting your name pronunciation

1. Open Teams or Outlook 

2. Select your profile picture.  You will then see your profile card

3. Select the speaker icon located next to your name:

4. Select the Delete icon to delete the recording

""

5. Select Yes, delete to confirm. The recording is deleted and your profile card will no longer have a recording of your name pronunciation.

If you change your mind and want to record a new audio clip, follow the section above.
